The Loop of ungodly thoughts

LOOP :- a structure, series, or process, the end of which is connected to the beginning

TEXT :- Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭GNB‬‬
“Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God — what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect.”

Basically, in a layman definition, loop could be defined as a series or string of a continuous (never-ending) event(s) one experiences every now and then.

Have you ever sat down or just lay down in bed on a lonely afternoon and then your mind just continuously bring to your remembrance a string of past event sometimes a hurtful relationship, an abuse, perhaps your past life of sin even though you’ve completely recanted those ways. You try to brush such ungodly thoughts aside but it just kept on playing and playing and you felt like if there was a stop button you could push to end all of it and most times we often felt helpless.

The good news is, We’re not helpless at all We actually have the power to overcome such ungodly thoughts. I came across a book – “THE POWER OF YOUR MIND” by Pst. Chris Oyakhilome, president and founder of Believers’ LoveWord Inc. (aka Christ Embassy). In his book, he gave the concept of mind management in accordance with the scripture Rom 12:2, “… be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” in other words, changing your way of thinking, accepting God’s thoughts and opinions, exchanging your ideas for His and Learning to think and talk like him.

And how can one think like God?
By focusing on his word
“God’s words are His thoughts clothed in vocabulary”. – Pst Chris Oyakhilome

To conclude, in order to teach our mind never to partake in ungodly thoughts we have to study his word – the Bible (which are His thoughts) in so doing our minds becomes renewed and this loop of ungodly thoughts shall cease in our lives.
Until next article. Stay blessed
