Have you walked into your favourite restaurant so famished, and with a particular delicacy in mind which can give the hunger a perfect satisfaction, but to your disappointment, your chef tells you it still being prepared, in other words food is not “ready“. Now you’re left with no choice but to wait a little longer or you could simply order something else, “the available“. You are not patient enough to wait, the hunger presses even more it just becomes unbearable, you loose control and fall for the “available” and you say to yourself… well, it’s worth it (settling for less)

This applies to our daily lives, our career, our marriages, our relationship, our Christian life, our family etc. The restaurant (favorite) is the place we get whatever we need in life (God), the food signifies what things we need in life, hunger is the challenges we face that makes us limit our decision and take the available.
We settle for the “available” rather than wait patiently for God’s appointed time to give us what we actually need – the “ready”.

You want that kind of relationship your friend is into now, you want that marriage now, you want that job now, that education now, all my friends are married or are in a relationship now and we want one too, all my mates have graduated, why is mine always different. And then you tend to indulge in whatever available means to satisfy that urge at all cost.

I will tell you why yours is different, God wants you to prepare yourself for what he is preparing for you, he wants you to be “ready” when its “ready” to achieve this he wants you to have patience, faith, prayer and fellowship to wait for the potter to make our vessels ” ready” and perfect. Jeremiah‬ ‭18:1-6‬ ‭GNB‬‬

We want what we see now because it will satisfy our flesh, because it what everyone is doing or has, because the society sees it right to be good, because we think opportunities come but once. So we wanna go get it before we even think twice if that very desire was in accordance to the will of God. After all they say, “Heaven helps those who helped themselves.” when in fact, in this generation heaven actually helps those who cannot help themselves.

We loose guidance, focus, target and begin to wander away in dryness, emptiness, unfulfilled, and dead.

(proverbs 23: 26) “Pay close attention, son, and let my life be your example.”    Proverbs‬ ‭23:26‬ ‭GNB‬‬

Are you ready to give God your heart to guide, are you ready to observe his ways to make the right choices or decisions?

Are you ready to persevere for it to be “ready”, or you will just have the “available”?.

Perseverance is the key to being a faithful Christian. God not giving you what you prayed for immediately doesn’t mean He’s wicked or He doesn’t hear prayers. He’s making you wait to build you so you could be fully grounded in the things of God. He’s got a wide perspective of your yesterday, the now, and your tomorrow. Having this perspective, He knows that if He grants you that request it’ll pull you away from Him, so He’s gonna just make you wait till you’ve learnt to totally depend on Him (Perseverance). Remember He promise to give you an expected end and His words are Ye and Amen.

I urge everyone of us to always persevere in times of lack or in times of expectations. God loves us. He said anything we whisper in his ear, that He’ll do for us. In the same vein he doesn’t want us to get lost in our pursuit for happiness, riches and every other heart desires rather He wants us to wait for the “READY” and not settle for “THE AVAILABLE”.

No wonder‭‭ David said in Psalms‬ ‭37:7‬ ‭GNB, “Be patient and wait for the LORD to act; don’t be worried about those who prosper or those who succeed in their evil plans.”

Persevere and wait until God’s time to grant you your heart desires, don’t be in a hurry to accept the available that often comes with one said problems or the other and they never last.

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength…  Isaiah 40:31 KJV

I pray God gives you the strength to always wait on Him. God bless you!
