The Loop of ungodly thoughts

LOOP :- a structure, series, or process, the end of which is connected to the beginning

TEXT :- Romans‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭GNB‬‬
“Do not conform yourselves to the standards of this world, but let God transform you inwardly by a complete change of your mind. Then you will be able to know the will of God — what is good and is pleasing to him and is perfect.”

Basically, in a layman definition, loop could be defined as a series or string of a continuous (never-ending) event(s) one experiences every now and then.

Have you ever sat down or just lay down in bed on a lonely afternoon and then your mind just continuously bring to your remembrance a string of past event sometimes a hurtful relationship, an abuse, perhaps your past life of sin even though you’ve completely recanted those ways. You try to brush such ungodly thoughts aside but it just kept on playing and playing and you felt like if there was a stop button you could push to end all of it and most times we often felt helpless.

The good news is, We’re not helpless at all We actually have the power to overcome such ungodly thoughts. I came across a book – “THE POWER OF YOUR MIND” by Pst. Chris Oyakhilome, president and founder of Believers’ LoveWord Inc. (aka Christ Embassy). In his book, he gave the concept of mind management in accordance with the scripture Rom 12:2, “… be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…” in other words, changing your way of thinking, accepting God’s thoughts and opinions, exchanging your ideas for His and Learning to think and talk like him.

And how can one think like God?
By focusing on his word
“God’s words are His thoughts clothed in vocabulary”. – Pst Chris Oyakhilome

To conclude, in order to teach our mind never to partake in ungodly thoughts we have to study his word – the Bible (which are His thoughts) in so doing our minds becomes renewed and this loop of ungodly thoughts shall cease in our lives.
Until next article. Stay blessed

MEDDLE

Dictionary meanings for meddle

  1. To interfere in something that is not one’s concern
  2. To touch or handle something without permission

All over the world there are people irrespective of age, class, background or race that tends to meddle (interfere) naturally. Interfering – speaking of which, there are individuals that (like I wrote earlier) naturally meddles especially individuals with “introversive” personality traits. Most times in our society their voices are not heeded due to their introversive attitudes but deep down in their hearts they actually know a lot about certain things or matters when it comes to talking movies, politics, music etc. For instance they come across where matters of such are being discussed and they perhaps are standing not to far from the scene or let’s say at a distance where they could still hear the discussion going on and probably the loudest mouth there amongst that group that’s doing most of the talking or commenting tends to be getting it all wrong and this introvert guy (meddler), suddenly speaks up in the matter like, “yes I’ve seen that movie or listened to that song or in terms of politics he gives the correct statistics” thereby saying his own point of view, all he wanted was to correct the situation and such people happens to be correct most times but his action still get to be considered as “meddle” even if they did that for the right reasons with the right conscience.

Also consider a person that happens to be very meticulous or scrupulous about how this are to be kept or arranged and then he/she has got a roommate that doesn’t even care at all. Now the meticulous person gets everything arranged and in order even went as far a arranging the roommates’ properties and soon the roommate be like “stop meddling with my stuff” resulting in something else probably a fight.

To conclude, there’re those who actually meddle for bad reasons perhaps to get one upset or to start a fight. Be that as it may, if you tend to delve into matters that doesn’t concerns you or you touch another’s property whether for good or bad reasons – you MEDDLED

SAY NO

Now, this is a masterpiece from someone I love and respect so much. she’s been a source of inspiration. She’s an herald of God’s kingdom to this generation – Princess Peace thank you so much.

Text: ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:3‬ ‭GNB, ‭‭Titus‬ ‭2:11-12‬ ‭GNB‬‬

And sin whispers to
our minds thus:
let’s take that money no one will know or care how you got it. Imagine the stuffs  you could purchase with it, remember those shoes, that new hairdo, don’t forget the party with that girl/boy etc.
with this you can afford everything you need.
SAY NO

See that fine, sexy girl/boy.
imagine the feeling with him/her in bed.
oh that enticing sensation. It’s normal everyone is doing it, try it, just this once.
SAY NO

Why should you say the whole thing as it was, why not change some things, remove this one, add that one, just don’t say the truth nobody will know just a small lie it’s  no big deal.
SAY NO

Why are you wasting time
reading or studying, it just stressful studying right!? Beside it too boring
You could cheat you know, after all “cheating is fun, only when you get caught it’s a crime”.
SAY NO

Seeing him/ her in his/her fancy shoes, clothes, house, car etc.
It will be good to have them all.
people will call you big boy/big girl
you will be the top classy boy / girl
you must do all it takes to have it all.
SAY NO

Let’s learn to say no to the voice of sin
our flesh is always hungry for sin and the more we feed it with sin it hungers for more but when you stop saying YES
and continuously say NO thereby starving the flesh of these lustful desires and in turn feeding your spirit and once it’s being starved it suffers
malnutrition, hunger and dies.
And the spirit takes over controlling all
may. May God empower us with divine strength and ability of self discipline, to be able to say NO to sin.

WHY SHOULD I BE A STRANGER IN MY FATHER’S HOUSE?

IMG_1822This is an attitude we observe amongst the youths in our churches today especially those that were invited to a new church and it’s their first time of worship there. We refuse to participate in the things of God simply because we feel we don’t belong to that congregation or don’t feel as though we’re amongst the brethrens. I urge us therefore that after reading this, we should have a change of heart towards our attitude when we are in the presence of God undermining the fact that we’re in a new church or in a different gathering of brethrens. God bless you as you read.

TEXT: “I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the LORD ‘s house.”
Psalms‬ ‭122:1‬ ‭GNB‬‬.

You walked into a church for the first time probably invited by a friend, you sit so less concern because it isn’t your church, the music is so good that no one could resist dancing but you are not dancing because you feel the faces are strange and it your first time, the preacher says all should stand or knee you’re not moved, you begin to find fault to criticize. And you be like “Hmm what’s going on here, well it’s not my church, their doctrines doesn’t correspond”. The next thing you’re thinking is when will service be over so you’d be gone. Meanwhile the Bible made us to understand that we serve one God so no matter what congregation you are He’s the same God and you’re amongst your brethren.
Please ask yourself this, did you go there to see your heavenly Father or you’re there to see the church?
Many of us do not know that firstly we are the church, the temple God dwells in to relate with us.

Galatians‬ ‭5:18‬ ‭GNB‬‬ says “If we are led in the spirit we are not under the law”. So why should you feel or act as a stranger in God’s house, it is the place you come in fellowship with people in same faith, wine, dine, rejoice, praise, pray, doing all to God’s glory. Even if it is not your home church feel at home, dance, sing, clap, jump, listen after all the main purpose of your being there is to commune with God. Why should you let church doctrine kill the fruit of the spirit which is in you urging you to worship.

I can never act like a stranger in my father’s houses even if I am new, I make myself comfortable and enjoy my time with God and I’ll go home knowing I am blessed. Remember, God’s house is a place of LOVE, ONENESS, UNDERSTANDING and WORSHIP. If we live with these godly attributes we’ll discover the true sense of being in the presence of God.

To conclude, understand that the church is not just the building, the building is just a cover over our heads to give us shade from sun, rain etc. We are the temple of God and God dwells in our praises. Whenever we find ourselves in the house of God, let us worship in spirit and in truth having godly attitudes doing so as though we’re worshipping the only one and true God and not a man.
